Helpful Information and Links for Families

Dear Families,

We wanted to take a moment to share some helpful links that will guide some of the conversations you may want to have with your child before school begins.

Discussion around proper handwashing and sneeze etiquette is important and will help to minimize the spread of infection.

As outlined in earlier communication, grades 4-12, as well as adults are required to wear masks indoors, when they are outside of their cohort or cannot maintain social distancing of two meters. All of our students will receive 2 cloth masks on the first day of school. Below is a link about mask wearing in accordance with public health directives. Practicing putting on a mask and removing it properly is important.

In the event that a student shows symptoms of Covid-19 at school, the following guidelines will be followed:

  1. They will be asked to wear a medical mask and self-isolate in a separate room
  2. Any supervising staff will also wear a medical mask and maintain social distancing
  3. A parent/guardian will be contacted to pick up their child
  4. The parent/guardian will be advised to call 811, who will advise if testing is required
  5. All areas used by the individual will be sanitized immediately

If a student or staff member is diagnosed with Covid-19 Public Health will immediately oversee the situation and advise us on next steps. They will also begin contact tracing. Monitoring your child’s daily health is also important. Below is a tool you can use daily to ensure your child is symptom free.
